What is Ponderosa?

What is Meadow Ranch?

Why Meadorosa?

Creative Theme

The theme is a practical link between the entertaining aspects of camp and our presentation of the Gospel. We leverage it as a background to Biblical truth.

Recreation

The high-energy, innovative games at Hume Lake give campers an outlet for their energy and counselors a chance to encourage team-building.

Dynamic Worship

Indoor worship, outdoor worship, corporate worship, devotional worship. Hume nurtures the attitude of worship from sunrise to sunset.

Activities

Hume Lake has an arsenal of activities for you and your students. Each afternoon during free time we push the limits while we play hard.

Local Ministry

We believe youth pastors know their youth groups best. In light of that, we run camp in order to give youth pastors the freedom to focus on their students.

Amazing Location

It is a place of great natural beauty, with warm summer days, cool nights, an amazing lake and wilderness surroundings. God makes cool stuff.

Dynamic Worship

Indoor worship, outdoor worship, corporate worship, devotional worship. Hume nurtures the attitude of worship from sunrise to sunset.

This crazy combination is designed to unify your junior high and high school youth group allowing space for growth together!

If not, are there any specific restrictions, what will those restrictions be, what games will not be available?

  • Free Time activities such as lake rentals, paintball, High Adventure will still be offered to all students.
  • Restrictions will apply to various Rec events:
    • Tournaments during free time:
      • High school will have volleyball and basketball-specific tournaments.
      • Middle School will have foosball and ping pong tournaments.
  • Rec teams will be combined high school and middle school teams. Rec chapel will be as usual. Rec will be programmed in such a way that during recreation, games will be either specific to age group or designed in such a way that it is safe for middle school and high school to compete together.
    • Kajabe is high school only. Middle school can watch and be around, however only high school students will compete.
    • Bike jump is high school only.

There will be a split middle school and high school dinner.

  • Chapels will be combined. Darin McWatters is a dynamic speaker and will do well for both age groups.
  • Seminars will have age appropriate options for both age groups.
  • The schedule will differ mostly on events. Events from Meadow Ranch will come to Ponderosa and vice versa, and some events will be cut.
    • From Meadow Ranch:
      • No night game because unsafe to have middle school and high school running together.
Pond Comp will be included and will allow middle school and high school to participate.
        Night swim will still happen.
    • From Ponderosa:
      • Two days of 4-way games instead of one. This allows middle school to have the normal summer Rec experience.
      • Bike Jump will stay for high school and middle school spectate (only one person per team, 28 total participants).
      • Split dinners will remain and include church split and middle school/high school split. This allows something fun and special for middle school.

We will use video elements from Ponderosa, not the live dramas from Meadow Ranch.
